3-Day Watercolor Portrait Workshop
June 6-8, 2012; 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

This
is a beginning watercolor portrait workshop designed for those who wish
to develop their skills painting an accurate portrait. Topics covered
include the structure and placement of the features, transfer techniques,
composition and value patterns, designing a painting, integrating background
and foreground and color of skin tones. There is a strong emphasis on
drawing and each student's personal painting style using a photo reference.
There will be daily demonstrations and lots of personal attention. Workshop

Myrna Wacknov attended Washington University, the Kansas City Art Institute,
and received her degree in painting and drawing at San Francisco State
University. She has been featured in Watercolor Magic, Artist's Magazine,
and American Artist. She has received numerous awards in national and

Each class in
PAL's Saturday Mini Art Workshops will teach something about the
basic skills needed to produce art. They will be taught by PAL's
members. You will have an non-intiminidating experience with teachers
that will help you through the process and show you how to be creative
and have fun at the same time. Mini workshops will be $20 per workshop,
or $60 for all four.

August 11: Painting with Watercolor
September 8: Techniques for Oil or Acrylic

Travel Sketching and Watercolor Workshop

Traveling with a sketchbook allows you to draw and paint when the inspiration
hits you and to see the world in new, creative ways. Discover how to economically
pack essential supplies, work in public and outdoors. Practice techniques
in class and outdoor locations and receive expert coaching from David. We
will cover structure in drawing, linear perspective, human figure, buildings,

Nancy Storch: Children's Art Classes
Openings for small on-going group classes for 13-14 year olds on Saturday
mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and for 9-10 year olds on Thursday afternoons
from 4:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. All materials are provided; classes are held in

Sketchbook Wednesdays
After participating in a very enjoyable sketch
book journal workshop with Susan Cornelis, Sally Haig is starting
a sketch group. They will meet Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to noonish.
She will send out email reminders on Tuedays. Locations will vary
